Protests in Turkey

In the past I have noted that the war described in Psalm 83 lists a certain group of nations, and specifically ignores others.

Essentially the nations listed in the psalm are the Sunni Muslim states that surround Israel. Muslim nations that are not a part of that war include Iran, Turkey, Libya, and Ethiopia/Sudan. These nations will participate in the Gog and Magog war several years later, along with Russia, the former states of the Soviet Union, and several other nations not listed, but probably including Pakistan, Afghanistan, and several Asian countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia.

Since Turkey has recently been supporting Hamas, and other Islamic terrorist groups, the question comes up “How is it that Turkey will not be involved in the Psalm 83 war?”

This has been a puzzle, but recent events in Turkey are beginning to shine some light on the question.

Turkish secularists protesting the abuses of Erdogan's administration

Turkish secularists protesting the abuses of Erdogan’s administration

When we first heard about the protests in Istanbul’s Taksim Gezi Park, our media told us that it was just about the park. We should have known that you can’t trust the major news media.

Police crack down hard on the protests at Gezi park

It turns out that the park was just the last straw in a long list of grievances the protesters have against the Islamist administration of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Since his election in 2003, ostensibly as a unifying voice, he has moved to Islamize the country, suppress dissent, and free speech.

Now we are finally seeing a true “Arab Spring” in a non-Arab Muslim country.

The evidence is that the unrest in Turkey will result in that nation distancing itself from the Sunni Muslim nations, and sitting out the Psalm 83 war.

The big picture? The world is moving toward exact fulfilment of God’s End Times prophecies, found in the Holy Bible. In fact the unbelieving world cannot help itself but to move toward fulfilling God’s biblical prophecies, all the while denying that the bible is true!

Even the unbelieving United States is playing a role in this fiasco! Since taking power, the administration of B. Hussein Obama is arming those very same Sunni Muslim nations that surround Israel! While denying that these nations pose any sort of threat to Israel, or world peace, they are sending fighter jets to Egypt, and are now arming the rebels in Syria!

Yes, the USA does have a role to play in the bible’s End Times prophecies, and it does not appear to be a good one!  The role of arming God’s enemies!

Context, context, context!

“Context, context, context.” The three rules of bible interpretation, according to Chris Rosebrough of Pirate Christian Radio.

For many parts of the bible, this is true, but what do you do when context shifts from one place to another, when context shifts thousands of years in a single passage?

This week I was reading Jeremiah 25 and I was struck how the context starts in ancient Israel, and then slips seamlessly into the future of Armageddon and the return of Christ.

Verses 1-9 set the initial context, that of Israel shortly before the invasion by Babylon,  Note that “Nebuchadrezzar” is one of the ways the ancient Hebrew spelled Nebuchadnezzar;

9 Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.

God decrees judgment against Israel because of their sins, and He states that their captivity will by seventy years.

11 And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years. 12 And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.

This is the section that Daniel referred to in 9:2

In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. Daniel 9:2

As God has used Babylon as a tool to bring judgment against Israel, He will then turn and bring judgment against Babylon itself. The problem is that all of these pronouncements against Babylon have not occurred… yet.

13 And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, evenall that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations. 14For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.

In verse 14 we are told that many nations shall serve themselves of Babylon. The problem is that Babylon, was defeated by the Medes and Persians, not many nations. Later on the Greeks took over, and the Romans, for a time, but by the time these nations took over control of Babylon, her wealth was long gone, so it cannot be said that these nations “served themselves of them”.

By this time the passage has switched to the End Times. The many nations that shall serve themselves of Babylon is explained in the book of Revelation, chapter 17

16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. 17For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. 18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth. Revelation 17:16-18

The nations who destroy Babylon the Harlot are the ten nations of Revelation 17. These nations represent the whole world.

Later on we are given a list of the nations that will suffer the wrath of God with Babylon and Jerusalem. While the list starts locally, it ends up with;

26 And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.

So.  When has there ever been a war where all the nations of the world were devastated? Of course the answer is “never”.

27 Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you. 28 And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink. 29For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.

I have heard some prophecy scholars say that the battle of Armageddon will be a local event centred around the nation of Israel. I remember reading Grand Jeffrey speculate that the survivors of Armageddon will likely have to take shelter in places like North America, far away from the battle. This is incorrect.

Jeremiah tells us that this last battle will result in deaths all over the world. It will not be local, and there will be no shelter from the Lord’s anger. Those who survive will survive miraculously.

31 A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD. 32 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth. 33And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.

This will be a terrible time. The most terrible time this world will ever see. There will be so many dead that they will not be buried, all over the world. This certainly puts the lie to those who say that Armageddon will be limited to the Middle East.

I find it curious that the Lord uses the term “shepherds” in His judgment. This is the same meaning as the word “pastor”. Could God be this angry with pastors? Evidently the pastors in that day will lead their flocks to worship the Antichrist;

34 Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel. 35 And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape. 36 A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: for the LORD hath spoiled their pasture. 37 And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the LORD.

One last thing, there is another reference to Revelation in the last verse;

38 He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger.

Many scholars do take Revelation 10:5-6 out of context.

5 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, 6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer;

I don’t know why but I have heard several prophecy scholars, and pastors, stop at the end of verse 6, and use this passage to say that time itself will no longer exist. This is a serious error, and is totally out of context. All they have to do is read the next verse;

7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

The angel is declaring that at this point, the mystery of God will be ended. What is the mystery of God? Only that He is here but we can’t see him. Unless He reveals Himself, we can’t see Him or know Him. Now, at this point in the Tribulation, God will reveal Himself visibly. He will no longer be hidden.

This is precisely the same event spoken of in Jeremiah 25:38, when it says “He hath forsaken his covert” or cover. At this point in History, God, in Jesus Christ, will no longer remain hidden, but will reveal Himself in wrath and fury, to the whole world!  He will destroy the Antichrist and all the false Christians who supported him, and everyone will see Him do it!

While I agree with Chris Rosebrough that context is important, the ultimate context of any passage is found within the passage itself, and by comparing it with the rest of Scripture. Very often the Lord leaves the immediate context of the writers, and translates the context to a time and place very different from the author’s society.

That is what prophecy is all about; it is the way God validates His word.  No one else can predict the future with such accuracy.

No, while Jeremiah wrote in the context of ancient Israel, the ultimate context of chapter 25 is the End Times, over 2,700 years later!

The Rapture and the Garden

For the last couple of weeks my employer has put me on the midnight shift, and as a result I am living in a fog of sleep deprivation! Try as I might, I am not able to get a good sleep during the day!

With that caveat, I have been thinking about something my last article brought up.

In the garden of Eden, before the first sin, Adam was warned about the tree of the knowledge of good and evil;

16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 2:16-17

This statement has been the subject of all kinds of sermons, articles, and speculation, over the years, because Adam and Eve did not die that day.

Was God lying? Did they die spiritually that day?   Was that what He meant?  Did their process of dying begin that day, and only end some 900 years later?

It struck me, after writing about the first sacrifice, that someone did die that day. Someone did die in the places of Adam and Eve, on the very day that the Lord GOD said they would die! Someone died as a substitute for each of them, establishing the principle of substitution that continues to this day!

Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them. Genesis 3:21

Two animals died to cover Adam and Eve’s sin. The death that Adam and Eve should have died was placed on them. Not that the death of animals could really cover sin, but as a picture of the one true sacrifice that does solve the sin problem, the death of Jesus on the cross!

People have pointed out that everyone dies. But NOT everyone dies! While death is the wages of sin, two sinners did not die! Enoch and Elijah did not die a physical death, but were translated directly to Heaven!

And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. Genesis 5:24

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.Hebrews 11:5

The wages of sin is death, and all have sinned, so how could Enoch avoid death? Someone else died for him! It was his faith that pleased God! Not works!

And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. II Kings 2:11

Make no mistake, Elijah too was a sinner. He also deserved to die, but he has a substitute!

There is a generation of saints that will receive the same blessing as Enoch and Elijah! They too are sinners, but they have the same substitute for their sins; The Lord Jesus Christ!

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. I Corinthians 15:51-52

This is commonly referred to as the “Rapture of the Church”. While the word “rapture” is not found in the English bibles, the word from which it derives, Ha rapereo, is found in the Latin Vulgate. It means to be “caught up, or to be snatched suddenly”.

If you don’t like the word “rapture” you can call it “the great snatch”, or the “catching up”. I don’t think it really matters what you call it. It will happen, regardless of what name you give it.

Notice the order in which this event occurs in 1 Thessalonians 4

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

This same order of resurrection, and then rapture, occurs very clearly in Isaiah 26;

19 Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead. 20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. 21 For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

Notice in verse 19 that this is not a general resurrection of both saints and the lost, for the lost will not sing at their resurrection! Notice also that Isaiah himself anticipates being resurrected at this time! This is the resurrection of the saved, of both the church-age saints, as well as the pre-church, Old Testament saints.

In verse 20 we have the rapture of the church which Paul spoke of in 1 Thessalonians 4:17. The “thy chambers” are the rooms, or mansions, in Heaven that Jesus spoke about building for us in John 14:2.

Notice that these saints are “hiding themselves” for “as it were a little moment” in Heaven. In other words they are not there permanently. The phrase “as it were” means “in a manner of speaking” or “not literally, but practically correct”. Seven years is but a little moment in the light of all eternity! Then they will be sent back to earth, because He has a job for them on this planet.

When are these people in their chambers in Heaven? While “the indignation” is going on, on the earth! This is a term for the Great Tribulation period! So, we now have a time period for the rapture of the church; just before the Tribulation period begins.

Notice in verse 21 that there are still people inhabiting the earth, after both the resurrection of verse 19, and the rapture of verse 20! Yes, there will be people left behind! Many of them will deny that it was the rapture, because they weren’t taken, and they consider themselves to be Christians! No! They will claim that “those evil people were taken in judgment, and now it is up to us to create the kingdom of God on earth”!

That is the time when God’s wrath will boil over on the inhabitants of this planet!

Psalm 50 speaks of this same event;

3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him. 4 He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people. 5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

Our God” is a reference to the God of Israel, the Lord Jesus Christ!

This judgment, in verse 4, is the Bema seat judgment of His saints, His people. This is NOT the great White Throne judgment of Revelation 20:11, for only His people will be there to witness it. If saints gain or lose rewards, it is not the business of the lost, but when the lost are judged, the saints will be there to witness that event!

Why would He call to the Heavens from above? He is calling for the resurrection of the saints who have already been in Heaven in spirit form.

The saints in verse 5 are the same saints in Isaiah 26:20, and in 1 Thessalonians 4:17. The sacrifice He is referring to is the sacrifice of His Son on the cross!

And this brings us back to where we started; Not everyone dies, and Adam and Eve avoided certain eternal death by faith in His sacrifice. All they had was the picture that He painted for them in the Garden, a picture of a substitute who would one day die for their sins. They were saved by faith in the seed of woman, the Son of God!  You too can avoid certain death by placing your faith in this same God-Man, the one who died as a substitutionary sacrifice for you on the cross!

The Sacrificial System, and its connection to the End Times

Have you ever wondered about the biblical sacrificial system, its connection to the eating of meat, and to the End Times? There is a definite connection.

When studying the bible, it is important to understand that the God who inspired the book of Genesis, is the same God who inspired Revelation, and every book in between. The essential part of God’s character, that believers depend on, is His unchanging nature.

For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. Malachi 3:6

Israel has made God angry, time and time again, but in His wrath He remembers the promises He made to their fathers. Nothing can prevent Him from keeping His promises, for if He did He would have been a liar. It is the same for every believer, we all depend on Him keeping His promises, for we have all sinned, even after becoming a Christian.

There is nothing new to God, and nothing ever surprises Him. He knew it all long before it happened. In the midst of His wrath He is still merciful to those who call on Him for salvation.

It is the same with the Son of God;

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Hebrews 13:8

It is because of the unchanging nature of God that we know His purpose at the beginning was the same as it is at the end.

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Revelation 13:8

When it says that the Lamb was “slain from the foundation of the world” it does not mean that He was literally slain from the foundation of the world, for if He was He would not have had to go to the cross It means that His sacrifice on the cross was a sure thing, even before He created the earth.

This was the purpose of Christ creating the world in the first place, and it is to this event that the entire sacrificial system points, from its inception in the Garden of Eden.

Now, those who know the bible may note that the term “sacrifice” is not a part of the account of the fall of man. This is true, but the result of the first sin was in fact the very first sacrifice, and it was God Himself who performed this sacrifice. What He did there was to teach Adam and Eve about the sacrificial system He was setting up, which would ultimately point to the one and only meaningful sacrifice; His death on the cross.

Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them. Genesis 3:21

After Adam and Eve sinned, they discovered that they were naked. They made aprons of fig leaves to cover their nakedness. They were really trying to cover their sin, but as usual human effort is unable to remove the stain of sin from our souls.

At least two animals died at the hands of God in this event. God was showing the first couple that they needed a covering for their sin, from someone who was innocent, and so the first two animals died as a result of the first sin.

As I mentioned in a previous blog post it is unlike God to waste the bodies of these animals, simply to clothe this couple. This is about something far deeper.

The God of the bible is a waste-not-want-not God, and so His killing of these animals was more than merely to cover the nakedness of Adam and Eve. He spilt the blood of these two animals, which was the first indication of His once-for-all sacrifice which was to come some 4,000 years later.

There can be no doubt that God had in mind His ultimate sacrifice, of which He later said;

I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. John 6:51

The eternal principle of Christ’s sacrifice is that one must partake of the sacrifice. In the law of Moses it is repeatedly stated that the person offering the sacrifice should eat the flesh of the animals, but not of the fat.

When you eat meat you digest it and it is incorporated into your body. The protein from the animals muscles is incorporated into your muscles. It becomes a part of you!

While Jesus does not mean that we should be cannibals, what He really means is that we partake of His sacrifice by reading His words and making them a part of us. The life of Jesus is synonymous with His words. This is why He is called “the Word of God”.

Now, it is not recorded in Genesis that God made a command for man to make sacrifices for sin, yet we see that just a few years later Abel made sacrifices in the same way which was eventually incorporated in the Law of Moses.

And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: Genesis 4:4

Abel was separating the fat and the meat of his sacrifices. He was butchering the animals, and not simply killing them and burning the whole animal as a burnt offering. The fact that he knew what was fat, and separated it from the rest of the offering, indicates to me that he ate the meat.

Abel learned how to make sacrifices from his father. I also think that God made Adam and Eve eat of the first two animals that He had killed for them!

And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of the peace offerings; and the priest shall burn them upon the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the LORD: and the priest shall make an atonement for his sin that he hath committed, and it shall be forgiven him. Leviticus 4:35

And the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings for thanksgiving shall be eaten the same day that it is offered; he shall not leave any of it until the morning. Leviticus 7:15

And thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, the flesh and the blood, upon the altar of the LORD thy God: and the blood of thy sacrifices shall be poured out upon the altar of the LORD thy God, and thou shalt eat the flesh. Deuteronomy 12:27

God never changed.  The principle of eating the sacrifice was written down by Moses, but was practised since the Garden.

Again, the early sacrifices were anticipating the sacrificial system of the law of Moses. I expect that the animals God killed for Adam and his wife were eaten that day, and what was left was burned as a burnt offering. That was the beginning of the sacrificial system.

How better to impress upon them the consequences of their actions?

Think about how the first couple felt as they observed Him kill the first animal on their behalf. What emotions would they have felt?

I should think their first reaction would have been horror! The first death of any kind on planet earth was the result of Adam’s sin, and he had to watch an innocent animal die because of his decision!

Then, when God insisted that Adam eat of the animal that had died for him, there would have been another reaction: a deeper horror, and then delight! Talk about mixed emotions! Guilt, horror, and delight, all at once!

It would have been a most humbling experience for Adam and Eve.

This is how Christians view the cross of Christ. I am horrified, and humbled, that it was my sin that put Him there. It was my sin that caused the perfect lamb of God to be slain! At the same time there is the delight that His sacrifice took away my guilt.

I am convinced this is the reaction they had, and we should have, to both the Old Testament sacrifices, and especially to the ultimate sacrifice of Christ. This was the best way for God to personalize the sacrifices. There was no neat grocery-store plastic packaging, only blood, smell, and the last gasp of the sacrificial lamb!

As Adam put on the skin of that animal, he probably looked a little bit like it. A sheep? A man wearing a sheepskin looks a little sheepish!

Now we put on Christ, and we get to look like Him to His Father! We get to look like the Lamb of God, and there is no greater privilege in all of creation!

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Galatians 3:27

We were condemned in Adam, but now we can experience forgiveness, and restitution. We can have full communion with God the Father through Jesus Christ His Son!

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1

I have heard many say that man didn’t eat meat until after the flood. I don’t believe it. The statement after the flood, in Genesis 9:3, was that it was now acceptable for man to eat any animal, not merely the ones designated clean for sacrifice. Man has been eating meat since the Garden of Eden.

The eating of animal flesh is intimately connected to the first sacrifice in the Garden of Eden, and the ultimate Sacrifice of Christ. This is why Paul tells us that the End Times will be characterized by people being forbidden to eat meat.

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. I Timothy 4:1-3

Most people have forgotten the origin of the eating of animal flesh, but Satan, and his demons know it is connected to their ultimate defeat. It was a symbol of the coming Messiah from the Garden of Eden. This is why many Pagans are vegetarians, and vegans, and this is why the Antichrist will support the prohibition of eating this food.

Vegetarianism, and veganism, are acts of rebellion against God’s provision for the removal of sin, but without a sacrifice you will spend eternity in the lake of fire.  Eternity is a long time!

Notice that Paul says that meats were CREATED to be eaten. God created animals with the intent that they would be eaten by man. I am well aware that “meats” can mean “food” in King James English but, in this context, this is a specific reference to animal flesh.

The rise of vegetarianism, veganism, and PETA are signs of the End Times, make no mistake about it!  This mindset will increase until God brings down judgment upon it!

World Day of Protests against Monsanto

I don’t normally support protesters, especially the “occupy” type, but on May 25, 2013 there was a protest worth taking note of, and even protesting.

This was the global “March Against Monsanto”. Our local CTV anchor said they were “Protesting Monsanto, a company who is helping increase food production”!!!

To feed the hungry? Does Monsanto give away their seeds? Monsanto is one of the most litigious companies in world history! They have even prosecuted farmers for growing genetically modified crops without even knowing it! The pollen blew across the road from one field to the next and Monsanto had the nerve to prosecute the farmer for growing crops that had got away from them.

They should have sued Monsanto for allowing their polluted pollen to cross the road!

This is an issue where copyright really has no jurisdiction. It is impossible to prevent crops from being contaminated by Monsanto’s genetically modified pollen!

This really isn’t about intellectual property. It is not really about eating contaminated food, though that is part of it. This is about controlling the world’s food supply!

From ancient times, farmers have always saved their seeds from one year to the next, but now this is becoming impossible! You have to get permission from Monsanto to do this, and then you must pay them a royalty! They did not create the food portion of the crop. It was God who did that!

In fact they did not even create the “roundup-ready” portion of the genome. They found it growing in weeds, and managed to transfer it to food crops such as soybeans and corn. I’d say that it is God who holds the copyright to food crops, and even to the “roundup-ready” genome!

In my opinion, Monsanto is a criminal organization. They are attempting to take control of the world’s food supply. Why? If they can control what you eat, you will become their serf!

It is unethical for one company, or even a group of companies to take control of the world’s food supply. If our governments are allowing them to do this, then this is proof that those governments are not working for the well being of their own people!

This is one issue that has caught our family’s attention lately. There have been reports of farm animals dying from eating Monsanto’s polluted corn, and we became concerned.

My son contacted Kelloggs to see if one of the boxes of cereal we had contained genetically modified corn. Their answer was that “Kelloggs uses genetically modified corn, but we can’t tell you if the particular Kellogs brand of cereal you have has Genetically Modified corn or not”. If that is the case then we as a family are not comfortable buying any Kelloggs products any more.

While there are some radical pagans who also are against Monsanto, this is not about earth worship.  This is about feeding my family food that has not been tampered with. It is about safe food, and about the God-given rights for people to keep seeds from year to year, and grow their own food.

Do you remember the controversies of the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s over Agent Orange, DDT, and PCBs? Apparently these were all Monsanto products!

Monsanto products like Agent Orange, DDT, and PCBs have done a lot of damage

Monsanto products like Agent Orange, DDT, and PCBs have done a lot of damage

Evidently Monsanto has not changed. This is a company that has a long history of unsafe products being used without regard for people, animals, and even food crops!

Don’t trust your government. Not only do they selectively enforce the laws they have, they are producing laws that protect large multinational companies like Monsanto from responsibility for the damage they cause to our food supply.

As a Christian, should I be concerned with this issue?

That’s a good question. Didn’t God give parents the responsibility to protect their children? Don’t fathers have a responsibility to feed their families? Is it OK for fathers to feed garbage to their children… or poison?  If you feed your children genetically modified foods, you are potentially feeding them poison, in my opinion!

Do you trust a company like Monsanto to do all the necessary testing on the products they sell? Given their history of flogging flawed products like Agent Orange, DDT, and PCBs, this is unlikely. What is more likely is that YOU are the guinea pig that Monsanto is using to test its products!

Twenty years from now when you develop cancer, how long will it take for them to discover that it was caused by the roundup-ready gene? How many human guinea pigs will have to die before the evidence points to these products?

What can you do?

For starters, call the numbers on the packaging of the food products you have in your home, and ask them if there is any genetically modified food crops in your product. You have a right to know. If they won’t give you a straight answer, don’t buy those products again.  Make sure they know that you are concerned.

Check out the NON GMO project’s website  and patronize the brands that they certify, but don’t be afraid to contact those companies to double-check. At least then they will know that their efforts are appreciated, and it will keep them honest.

NON GMO Project

Look for the NON GMO label. If it is not on the product you are looking at, it probably is contaminated, although not every food crop has been modified just yet. The two big ones are corn and soybeans, but I believe canola has also been contaminated. I believe I heard the other day that there is a GM wheat about to be unleashed on us.

Here is a list from the nonGMOProject website of plant species that are known to be contaminated;

  • Alfalfa (first planting 2011)
  • Canola (approx. 90% of U.S. crop)
  • Corn (approx. 88% of U.S. crop in 2011)
  • Cotton (approx. 90% of U.S. crop in 2011)
  • Papaya (most of Hawaiian crop; approximately 988 acres)
  • Soy (approx. 94% of U.S. crop in 2011)
  • Sugar Beets (approx. 95% of U.S. crop in 2010)
  • Zucchini and Yellow Summer Squash (approx. 25,000 acres)

ALSO high-risk: animal products (milk, meat, eggs, honey, etc.) because of contamination in feed.

Common Ingredients Derived from GMO Risk Crops
Amino Acids, Aspartame, Ascorbic Acid, Sodium Ascorbate, Vitamin C, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Ethanol, Flavorings (“natural” and “artificial”), High-Fructose Corn Syrup, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, Lactic Acid, Maltodextrins, Molasses, Monosodium Glutamate, Sucrose, Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP), Xanthan Gum, Vitamins, Yeast Products.

You may also be wondering about…

  • Tomatoes: In 1994, genetically modified Flavr Savr tomatoes became the first commercially produced GMOs. They were brought out of production just a few years later, in 1997, due to problems with flavor and ability to hold up in shipping. There are no genetically engineered tomatoes in commercial production, and tomatoes are considered “low-risk” by the Non-GMO Project Standard.
  • Potatoes: Genetically modified NewLeaf potatoes were introduced by Monsanto in 1996. Due to consumer rejection by several fast-food chains and chip makers, the product was never successful and was discontinued in the spring of 2001. There are no genetically engineered potatoes in commercial production, and potatoes are considered “low-risk” by the Non-GMO Project Standard.
  • Wheat: There is not currently, nor has there ever been, any genetically engineered wheat on the market. Of all “low-risk” crops, this is the one most commonly (and incorrectly) assumed to be GMO. It is a key commodity crop, and the biotech industry is pushing hard to bring GMO varieties to market. The Non-GMO Project closely watches all development on this front.
  • Salmon: A company called AquaBounty is currently petitioning the FDA to approve its genetically engineered variety of salmon, which has met with fierce consumer resistance. Find out more here.
  • Pigs: A genetically engineered variety of pig, called Enviropig was developed by scientists at the University of Guelph, with research starting in 1995 and government approval sought beginning in 2009. In 2012 the University announced an end to the Enviropig program, and the pigs themselves were euthanized in June 2012. (http://www.nongmoproject.org/learn-more/what-is-gmo/)

This is really scary, folks. This is not something that we should ignore, unless you don’t mind dieing early. Just because the people developing these products are highly educated, it does not mean that they know what they are doing. They are excited about the technology, and the possibilities for personal wealth that it might bring them. Money is a huge incentive for many, and blinds them to the ethical grey areas. Scientists are no exception.

The state of the world

Sometimes I am so overwhelmed by world events that I don’t know what to write.

We had a tornado go through about 6 or 7 miles north of us last week. There was very little damage compared to the Oklahoma tornado, but it does bring it home.

Buildings damaged by tornado that went through Dalston, Ontario, just north of Barrie

Then, on the weekend, one of my wife’s co-workers was murdered. She was going through a divorce, and now her husband is charged with second degree murder.

Last week a Syrian rebel was filmed eating the heart of one of his enemies! Such savagery! This lost sinner is going to hell, with a lot of better people than himself!

As I look at Drudge and see the mess the world is in, some times it is just overwhelming!

It is all related to one thing, and one thing only…sin!

The human race is at war with God. The tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, fires, and other natural disasters are a result of sin. God’s anger with the human race is boiling.

Instead of admitting our guilt, however, the politicians and leftists point to others and say “it is because you are driving a car!” Grrr!  No!  It is because YOU are a sinner, and YOU refuse to repent!  Yes you, Democrat!   Yes you, Liberal!  Yes you, Conservative!  Yes you, Republican!  Yes even you, member of PETA!  Even you “Christians”!

And so the judgment of God looms on the horizon.  Canada, and the USA, and Mexico, and Russia, and Iran, can’t escape it!

Isaiah 66:4
I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.

This is a passage about the current generation folks! There has never been a more deluded generation than the one that currently resides on planet earth!

Now, I am attending a church where the leadership says that the Greek New Testament is wrong, and the real name of the Messiah is Yeshua, not Jesus or ιησουν (Yesoos). He has nothing to base that claim on, except the tradition that the Jews spoke Hebrew during the life of Christ. Some did, but the majority spoke Greek. This is why they wrote the bible in Greek.

You can find the times that Jesus spoke Hebrew or Aramaic, by reading the King James bible, or the Textus Receptus. It notes the times when He spoke those languages, which means that the rest of the time He was speaking Greek!

The Greek New Testament was not “anointed” by God! That would imply that it was a human effort! No! The New Testament was written in Greek because it was Inspired by God, in that language!

Don’t think for a minute that God is limited to Hebrew. He can speak in any language He chooses. and He chose Greek!

II Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

That includes the Greek New Testament, folks!

To say that the biblical use of ιησουν is incorrect, and it really should have been Yeshua, is casting doubt on the Word of God! It is lifting up fallible men as judges of God’s bible! It panders to human pride! The very thing that brought down Lucifer!

While I am sad and upset at the horrible things that are going on in the world, I am furious at the attack on God’s word, which is coming from within the Christian Church! Murder? Casting doubt on the Word of God is worse than murder! People’s eternal destinations are at stake!

Was the Greek of the New Testament predicted in the Old Testament?

I have frequently found that when confused by the many theological theories, and stories, one encounters on a daily basis, the best cure is always to go to the ultimate source of spiritual knowledge, the bible.

I was recently told that “The name of the Saviour is not Jesus, but Yeshua”, by an elder of a Messianic congregation.

Now, the name Yeshua is a form of the Hebrew Joshua, or Yehoshua, and since Jesus, or Iasous, is the Greek form of this same name, Yeshua is a legitimate name to use to refer to the Messiah. I have no problem when one uses Yeshua to refer to the Messiah, but I have a problem with this statement.

When one says that “The name of the Saviour is NOT Jesus, but Yeshua” he is claiming divine knowledge. In short such a statement is making a claim of divine revelation, unless the speaker has a direct statement to that effect from the Scriptures.

Does such a statement exist in the Scriptures?

No, not to my knowledge, and those who make such claims have universally failed to produce one.

This statement is based on a fallacy that says that the New Testament was originally written in Hebrew, and then later translated into Greek. This is more than a fallacy, it is actually a heresy.

There is no evidence for such a text. The “original Hebrew New Testament” is fiction. There is a mountain of textual evidence in Greek, and not one in Hebrew. The Aramaic Peshitta is newer than the Greek, a translation of it, and still is not OT Hebrew.

So, if there is no evidence that the New Testament was written in Hebrew, is there evidence that God planned it to be written in Greek? Is there a place in the Old Testament where God hints that He would use another language when writing the New Testament?

Yes, there is!

Isaiah 28:11For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

Notice that this is not “other tongues”, but “another tongue”. Who is “he” in this context? It is the Lord Jesus, the Messiah! The “another tongue” of this passage is none other than the New Testament Koine Greek! The lingua franca of the Roman Empire, including Israel, in the first century.

Most people who stammer have higher than average intelligence. Their brain moves faster than their body can keep up. This may explain why the Lord would stammer. I am not aware of any other passage that speaks of Jesus stammering, but if scripture says it, it must be true.

Some will accuse me of taking this passage out of context, but I can assure you I have read the whole chapter. There are multiple contexts in the passage. The first few verses refer to ancient Israel, and the last few refer to the Tribulation period. Somewhere in the middle it changes to the first century.

Lets take a few moments to examine the context of the passage;

1 Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine! Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand. The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under feet:

This initial context is ancient Israel during Jeremiah’s life time. This section refers to Ephraim of the northern kingdom, shortly before they were taken into captivity. Today the descendants of Ephraim live in Afghanistan and Pakistan, among the Pathan tribes. They are now Muslims and don’t drink any more, but don’t think God is done with them.

Somewhere in the passage the context switches to the future of the Tribulation period;

21 For the LORD shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act. 22 Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.

While God decrees judgment against Israel, from time to time, the “consumption, even determined upon the whole earth” is a clue that this particular judgment is not reserved for Israel alone, but for every nation. This judgment is the Tribulation, which will affect the whole earth.

In the middle we have the verse in question; For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

What happened in the middle, between the scattering of Israel, and the final regathering for the Tribulation? That is the time when the Messiah came, and that is the time when He spoke to “this people” with another tongue… Greek!

In case we didn’t get it, he speaks again of the Messiah in verse 16

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.

There is no doubt that this verse is a reference to Jesus the Christ, and neither is there any doubt that verse 11 is also a reference to this same person.

I find it interesting that he says “ he that believeth shall not make haste”. Humans are always in a hurry. It is counter intuitive that we should wait. We don’t like to wait. We want the Lord to hurry, but His timing is perfect. We often commit our worst sins when we act on an impulse!  Wait for the Lord.

For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. Psalms 37:9

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

Is Isaiah 28:11 alone? Is it the only place where the New Testament Greek is hinted at? No. While God does not specify which language He would use for the New Testament, he does say that Hebrew would cease to be the lingua franca of Israel.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring again their captivity; The LORD bless thee, O habitation of justice, and mountain of holiness. Jeremiah 31:23

At the time when Jeremiah wrote this verse, Hebrew was the main language of Israel. It would have been inconceivable to the Jews of that day that their descendants would speak another language. Here he is prophesying that the day would come that they would no longer use this language, and would not use it again until they are returned back to the land.

The phrase “when I shall bring again their captivity” is not a reference to their return after 70 years, but to their return after 2700 years. The majority did not return when the Persians allowed them to.  This is actually a reference to Chaim Weizmann, the father of the modern Zionist movement, and the establishment of modern Israel in 1948.

After the invasion of the Greeks in c.330 BC, Israel was subjected to Hellenization to the point that when Jesus was born, Greek was the lingua franca, the operating language, of Israel. In fact Greek was the operating language of the entire Roman empire, not Latin.

Cory Keating makes this note;

“It has been universally acknowledged by virtually everyone who has studied the matter that “Greek was the lingua franca of the Graeco-Roman world and the predominant language of the Roman Empire.” Because it was the language of the Empire, it held a place of prestige in that it dominated the political, educational, and economic environment even of Palestine itself.This means that there would have been cultural, social and especially linguistic pressure to learn Greek in order to communicate broadly within the social structure.”

Furthermore, evidence continues to increase regarding the strong influence of the Greek language and culture in lower Galilee, the region where Jesus grew up. Highlighting the evidence of Hellenistic influence in Galilee is the fact that Matthew refers to that region as “Galilee of the Gentiles.” Jesus’ hometown, Nazareth, was located just four miles from the largest Galilean city, Sepphoris which was a Hellenistic-Roman city where the Hellenistic culture, not Judaism, was dominant.

This Hellenistic culture, which implied the use of Greek, dominated every aspect of life and society.”

In summarizing the importance of this region as a trade route, surrounded by Hellenistic culture, the greatly respected Greek linguist Stanley Porter says, “it is not legitimate to think of Jesus as growing up in linguistic and cultural isolation. Nazareth was situated along a branch of and had a position overlooking one of the busiest trade routes in ancient Palestine, the Via Maris, which reached from Damascus to the Mediterranean.”

Thus New Testament historian H.C. Kee concludes, “This means that for Jesus to have conversed with inhabitants of cities in the Galilee, and especially the cities of the Decapolis and the Phoenician region, he would have had to have known Greek, certainly at the conversational level.”

Evidence from History and the Gospels that Jesus Spoke Greek By Corey Keating

Because it was God’s purpose to save gentiles, as well as Jews, He inspired the original New Testament, Jewish authors to write in Greek, the same language Jesus had used as His language of ministry.  It was not a human decision to use Greek for the New Testament Scriptures, it was one made by God Himself!

So what about the angel who came to the virgin Mary, and told her she was going to have a son. What name did he tell her to use?

And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. Luke 1:31

Here it is in the original;

και ιδου συλληψη εν γαστρι και τεξη υιον και καλεσεις το ονομα αυτου ιησουν

He told her to name Him ιησουν, Iasous! (Yes, I have the original bible on my computer.  You can find it for free here!)

Ἰησοῦς in our English characters is Iēsous, or Jesus. As Wikipedia says; “The Greek form is a hellenization of the Aramaic/Hebrew ישוע‎ (Yēšūă‘) which is a post-Exilic modification of the Hebrew יְהוֹשֻׁעַ(Yĕhōšuă‘, Joshua) under influence from Aramaic.”

One little fact I have not seen anyone mention is the fact that throughout history Jews taught Hebrew to their sons, but rarely to their daughters.  Reading of the Scriptures, the Tanakh, was considered a subject for men alone, and women were taught to be house-keepers, mothers, and wives, thus they would have no need for Hebrew.

So, if the first person the angel spoke to was a young girl, Mary, or Miryam, he probably had to speak Greek to her to be understood!  This may explain why Jesus had such a large number of women followers, He spoke their language!  He wasn’t uppity, speaking only Hebrew to learned men, His message was for everybody!

Is it possible that God would take a transliteration for his name when He came to earth? It seems inconceivable, yet it appears that this is exactly what He did! There is NO evidence to the contrary!  Zero!  None!  Nada!

This is what Jews throughout history have done, when naming their children. They take the local transliterations of Hebrew names for their sons and daughters, in the language with which they find themselves speaking. My son has a Jewish classmate named Benjamin. Should Benjamin some day move to Israel he will probably go by Binyamin (בנימין), but as long as he lives in Canada, speaking English, he will likely continue to be known as Benjamin.

Anatoly Sharansky, the famous Russian-Jewish dissident, changed his name to the Hebrew Natan when he immigrated to Israel.

God told us that Hebrew would die out as a spoken language, In Jeremiah 31:23, and would only be restored in the End Times. He told us that He would come speaking another tongue in Isaiah 28:11. The evidence is that these things are true, and the Greek of the New Testament is actually a fulfilment of these prophecies!

You and I are called to believe the bible, NOT to modify it!

What of the martyrs? What of the hundreds of millions of martyrs who died during the last two millennia? How many of them died for Jesus, and how many of them died for Yeshua? The fact is that the vast majority of them never heard of Yeshua, but they gave their lives for ιησουν, Jesus, or the local equivalent, even the Jewish believers.

There may have been a handful who knew Him by Yeshua, but He will not dishonour those who died for Him knowing only Jesus.

Modern men who tell us “The name of the Saviour is not Jesus, but Yeshua” are disrespecting the Lord, the bible, the martyrs, the saints, and all the evidence He gave us. They are ignoring two thousand years of church history!

You will find that such churches don’t sing any of the old hymns either, for the exact same reasons. They don’t believe that those who came before us made any valuable contributions to the faith! They are lifting themselves up for special honour. Don’t believe such men, but read your bible (the AV), and believe it!

There is a Hebrew Roots version of the bible that some are reading, and which I have recently encountered. I noticed the other day that where the original says “Christos” they have replaced it with, not Messiah, or Mossiach, but with Yeshua. This is not even a valid translation! Such a bible is not trustworthy! Translation requires that you replace the original word with the equivalent word of the language into which you are translating.

Replacing Christos with Yeshua is a paraphrase, which is the authors opinion, and not a translation.  Making such an insertion betrays an agenda, and an attitude.  This is an arrogant attitude, and not the type of attitude a Christian should display.  A servant of Jesus Christ should be humble, and faithful.

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.  James 4:6

Dan

Is Europe the Ten Nations of Revelation 17?

Surfing through the web yesterday I came across a site called “The Enlightened Conservative“.  Don’t ask me how I found it, I was just going from link to link, and there it was.

Their article The Rebirth of The Holy Roman Empire caught my eye, and as I read I realized that there are still a lot of Christians who think that the ten nation confederacy of Revelation 17 is a reference to the European Union.

If they were to say “the EU Could be the ten nation confederacy of Revelation 17” I would have less of a problem.  As it is, their adamant stand is a real problem for me.

They point to the numerous illustrations of the pagan goddess Europa riding on a bull, a representation of Zeus, as being some sort of proof of this connection.  The Beast of Revelation 17 has seven heads and ten horns.  Take a look at the photos from this site and see if you see a beast with seven heads and ten horns;

Greek Euro with Europa and Zeus

Europa in Front of EU Parliament Bldg

In Spain ~ Notice Europa Holding 12 Stars (Original caption)… Twelve, Not Ten Stars

The imagery is not correct.  Though the imagery is pagan indeed, this is is not the same beast, nor the same woman.  This is a counterfeit.

The article goes on to say;

“There will be some against the Anti Christ and he will not rule over every single land on earth.  For this alone it is important that America vote the right person in office, one who is not willing to hand over our sovereignty to the European Union and the United Nations.  We MUST VOTE for the right person.”

The bible does NOT say that the Antichrist will NOT rule the entire earth.  This conclusion is based on the presupposition that the ten nations of Revelation 17 are only ten nations of Europe.  Notice also that their focus is on this world, and not on the kingdom of God.

The idea behind this interpretation of Revelation 17 is one that does not take into account what is going on during the Tribulation.  This time period represents the apex of Satan’s rebellion against God.  His time is extremely short, and he knows it, so he pulls out all the stops.  He will do his very best to deceive the whole world!  He will use every trick in his book, including some he hasn’t used before!

Satan’s deceptions during the Tribulation are borne of a mind that is desperate!  He is desperate to prove God is a liar.  He is desperate to prevent people from believing in Jesus!  If the whole world would reject Jesus, the only Saviour, then there would be no one for God to keep His promises to! Just as, if there were no Jews the same situation would exist.

This is why the Tribulation period will involve the whole world.  There is not one country, not one corner of the planet, that will not be affected.

The people behind this website, and similar sites, seem to be ignorant of the Club of Rome’s plan to form the world into ten super-states, before forming one world government.  In 1974 the Club of Rome released a report in which they made this proposal.  The book is called “Mankind at the Turning Point; The Second Report to the Club of Rome”, by Mihajlo Mesarovic and Eduard Pestel.

In The Spirit of Prophecy I made these notes regarding this document;

“In Appendix I the authors present two cases:  Either there will be global warming, or global cooling, as a result of man’s activity, and either is presented as evidence that the human race must accept their recommendations!  They conveniently ignore the fact that past fluctuations in the earth’s temperature were not the result of human activity.  It is a known fact that the Ice Age, the global warming of two thousand years ago, and the mini-ice age of three hundred years ago, were not the result of human activity.  There were not enough people on the planet to have that sort of effect.  Neglecting relevant data in this fashion should certainly give up pause to consider whether the authors are truly scientific, as they claim, or whether they are following some other agenda.  Nevertheless, it appears that many governments, and the UN, are following the advice presented in their book.”

“On page 38, figure 4-1 of “Mankind at the Turning Point” there is a map which shows the world divided into ten regions.  Appendix II identifies these regions as: 1. North America, 2. Western Europe, 3. Japan, 4. Rest of the Developed Market Economies (including Israel, Australia and South Africa), 5. Eastern Europe including the Soviet Union, 6. Latin America, 7. North Africa and the Middle East, 8. Main Africa, 9. South and Southeast Asia, 10. Centrally Planned Asia.  This is the embryonic form of the ten toes of Nebuchadnezzar’s vision.  Already there have been changes, as we have seen Mexico being included in NAFTA, whereas it was originally included in the Latin American region.  Originally Africa had been divided into three regions, but the African Union, formed on 9 July 2002, has taken in almost all of Africa, with the one exception currently being Morocco.” (The Spirit of Prophecy, by Daniel Knezacek, page 58)

All you need to do is read the news, or watch your local TV station and it will not be long before you hear of  “global warming”.  The global elites are indeed following the plan as laid out in “Mankind at the Turning Point”.  The following is their proposal for a world political system.

The Regionalization of the World as envisioned by the Club of Rome in 1974

The Regionalization of the World as envisioned by the Club of Rome in 1974

As you can see, Europe is only ONE of the ten nations, not the complete End Times system!

What is being set-up is a very elaborate counterfeit, that will fool all but the very discerning true believers in Jesus Christ.  This counterfeit will come complete with its own version of the Antichrist, False Prophet, Babylon, mark of the beast, and even Armageddon.

When the real Armageddon is about to start, the world, including most “Christians”, will think it is over!  This is why Paul said;

For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. I Thessalonians 5:3

The “Wars and rumours of wars” that Jesus spoke of in Matthew 24, are wars that could be interpreted as Armageddon.  This is why He told us not to be troubled.  Christians have been through countless wars, but this is different.  We could be troubled if we thought we were in the middle of the Tribulation!

And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. Matthew 24:6

Yes the Church will be here for some biblically prophesied wars, but these are NOT a part of the Tribulation period!  They are the closing acts of the Church age.  These wars are specifically the Psalm 83 war, and the Gog and Magog war of Ezekiel 38-39.  These events, and their timing, will be similar to the Tribulation, and the ignorant masses will believe they are indeed in that war, but in reality God is setting them up for a trap!

When it appears to be over, they will be looking for a Saviour, and that is when the real Antichrist will arise!  Satan will pull out all the stops, and God will let him do it!

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Matthew 24:24

Why?

I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? Luke 18:8

A great many Christians are following a Jesus of their own making.  This is not faith, it is idolatry.  They may “name the name of Christ” but their Jesus is an idol they have made themselves.  He is not happy with such people, but would rather bring judgment on them!

You can find such people in the Seeker Driven, Purpose Driven crowd.  They lead the Emergent church, and the New Apostolic Reformation is full of them.  You will even find them among the traditionalist crowd, and of course the Catholic Church.  They are the majority in all these movements.  True saving faith is a rare thing these days.

This is why I was so disappointed in the Enlightened Conservative website.  The idea that Europe is the ten nations of Rev. 17 did not come from God, but is either man-made, or from the pit of hell itself.  Either way it is not good.  Don’t allow yourself to be fooled, but stay in the Word!

I told you so!

Don’t you hate it when someone warns you about something, and you dismiss them or ignore their advice, only later to have them say “I told you so”!

I do too, so I hate to be the one who says it!

Honest Reporting is now saying that Palestinians and Syrians are preparing to fight for the Golan.  I told you so.

The rebellion in Syria is specifically about the Golan heights.  The rebels want Syria to attack Israel to gain the Golan back.  Assad is too smart to do this, so they are determined to remove him.  It will happen, but they won’t succeed in getting the Golan back.  In fact when the attack does come, the remnants of Syria will become an Israeli protectorate.

The Psalm 83 war describes the descendants of the Hagarites/Hagarenes as being one of the members of the coalition that attacks Israel in that day.  1 Chronicles 5 describes how two of the tribes of Ishmael moved to southern Syria, to the area known then as Gilead, and today as the Golan, and were at war with Israel some 3,000 years ago.

They are still there.  Nothing has changed.

That group will drag Syria into the Psalm 83 war, and it will result in the Destruction of Damascus, the world’s oldest continually occupied city!  They will have no-one to blame but themselves, and when it happens I will have to say “I told you so!”

My trip to Germany

My employer has purchased a piece of equipment from a manufacturer in Germany, and saw fit to send a couple of employees to train on it before it is brought to Canada.  I feel privileged to have been selected to go for this training.

For the last ten days I have been in Germany, learning to run, and troubleshoot, this machine.

My introduction to the German culture was interesting, and enlightening.

During the trial of Adolph Eichmann, one of the witnesses broke down, with shouting, and sobbing,  when he saw Mr. Eichmann.  Afterwards someone asked him why this reaction, and he replied to the effect of “I expected to see a monster, and what I saw was a very normal man“.

In my experience in Germany, I found the Germans to be very normal, really just like Canadians!  They put mayonnaise on their fries, just like Americans.  There is nothing particularly evil about these people, so how could they have started two world wars?  The truth is that normal people can do very evil things given extraordinary circumstances.  If you lie to normal people enough, they just might believe your lie!  If they believe it they will act on it, and this appears to be what happened in Germany.

So, why would we think it can’t happen here?  Why would we think that Canadians, Americans, or British people, couldn’t do the same things the Germans did?

Given the same type of propaganda, there is nothing to stop us from becoming just as evil!  In fact, I would say that today the west is well along the road to becoming just like Germany of the 1930s!  The postmodern seeker driven and emergent churches are well along the road to becoming just like the churches of Germany in the 1930s!

Our universities teach Neitzsche in philosophy class, but did you know that Neitzsche’s ideas lead to Nazism, or at least Fascism?  Neitzsche was Hitler’s favourite philosopher!

The idea that “truth is relative” comes from Neitzsche.  Postmodernism rejects all absolutes, in the same manner.  This is why you find that emergent pastors are starting to support Sodomite “marriage”.  “It’s OK so long as it is monogamous”.  I have heard them say!  What rubbish!

The only absolute that postmoderns follow is “there are no absolutes”!  A self contradictory statement if I ever heard one.  They know this absolutely, of course!

The problem is that postmodernism has infiltrated our media, our churches, and our schools!  If we don’t combat this evil today it will overtake us and we will suffer horrendous consequences, like Germany in the 1940s!

The Germans still close their businesses on Sunday!  My goodness, we might be worse than Germany already!

Well, I have strayed from my original intent.  I wanted to talk about my time in Germany.  For the most part it was positive.  Everyone I met was friendly and helpful.  It was an adventure, and I would recommend to anyone that they take some time to visit other parts of the world.

We spent more time working than sightseeing, but we did get a bit of time to look around Sollingen, Wuppertal, and Duesseldorf, one day.  Here are some pictures I took;

Duesseldorff downtown

Old building in Duesseldorf with banners proclaiming Duesseldorf’s founding in 1285!

Dan in front of hotel

Our Hotel.  Proof that I was actually there, no it’s not photoshopped! The cobblestones make quite a racket when cars drive by, but the BMW smoothed them out. Can’s say the same for the Renault Kangoo!

Hotel Zur Post from Graftather Hof

Hotel Zur Post from across the street. The slate-clad building is very old, truly a historical treasure!

Grafrather Hof Hotel from front

Our hotel from up the street, The caption on the old church to the left says it was built in the 1500s!  They still have weddings there.

I found the older architecture rather impressive.

The white vehicle in front is a Renault Kangoo, like the one we borrowed from our hosts.

The white vehicle parked on the sidewalk is a Renault Kangoo, like the one we borrowed from our hosts. Caption on the Haus reads “Deutsches Haus im Deutschen Land, Schirm Dich Gott mit Starker Hand”. I have seen this caption somewhere else, but I don’t know what it means. Perhaps someone could enlighten me? Gott is obviously a reference to God but what it says about Him I don’t know.

Barge on the Rhine

A Barge Struggles up the strong current on the Rhine in Duesseldorf. It took him several minutes to get past us, but the boats going downstream are gone quite quickly.

Downtown Duesseldorf. It appears to be a common practise for European cities to close their downtown streets to vehicular traffic, essentially turning them into a large mall. We found the same thing in Wuppertal and in Sollingen.

Opel van

An Opel (GM) van. Sometimes it appears that European car manufacturers compete to see who can produce the weirdest vehicles! The truth is that I find the practice rather refreshing. It is better than the usual boring conformity!

Renault Twizzy

A Renault Twizy, a French single-seat car! The windows don’t roll up, so you might not want to drive in the rain!

Auf Wiedersehen,

Dan
