Seven Mountains or Seven Spheres

I was recently listening to Brannon Howse on my car mp3 player when I heard him talking about a new video “Is Genesis History?”, and gushing with praise about it. From what he said it sounds like its an apologetic work on young-earth creationism, which would be a good thing, and something sorely needed in the world today, but then he mentioned the producer, Dell Tackett, and also that “We don’t agree with everything that Dell Tackett has done in the past, but this film is one we can agree on, and support.”

I was with him until he mentioned Dell Tackett’s name, and then alarm bells began ringing in my head! OK, that ringing may have been my tinnitus, but I was alarmed! Dell Tackett was the presenter in Focus on the Family’s film “The Truth Project” which my Church watched in 2010.

At the time I was nearing the end of writing The Spirit of Prophecy, and I had recently been through a study of the New Apostolic Reformation’s teaching called “the Seven Mountain Mandate”. What I found was that the NAR’s “Seven Mountain Mandate” and Del Tacket’s “The Seven Spheres of Society” is that this is exactly the same thing!

The NAR teaches that the Church has to take over the seven mountains of society, before Jesus can return. The Church takes over these seven mountains of society and then when Jesus returns they hand them over to Him.

So what are the Seven areas of the Seven Mountain Mandate?

1) Education
2) Religion
3) Family
4) Business
5) Government/Military
6) Arts/Entertainment
7) Media

If you’re a Christian, and haven’t found these seven mountains in Scripture, don’t be alarmed! They actually aren’t there! This teaching is not to be found in the Word of God, but is something that has recently been added to Church teaching by false teachers!

This teaching is a logical extension of an old, false, eschatological system originally popularized by one Augustine of Hippo. The system I am referring to is known as Amillennialism, and its related philosophies of Post-millennialism and Preterism.

Amillennialism says that we are in the millennial reign of Christ right now, and that things will get progressively better until He returns and takes us all to Heaven, or at least separates the wheat from the tares.

What the bible actually says is much closer to the system known as Dispensationalism. This system teaches that things will get worse and worse until the Tribulation and Armageddon occur, then Jesus will return, destroy the world’s system, and take over the world and rule from Jerusalem for 1,000 years. This system teaches that even under the perfect government of Jesus Christ things won’t be perfect because people will still be natural men, and while they might physically obey the laws of Jesus Christ, most will not be born-again, and when the opportunity presents itself they will rebel at the end of the 1,000 years!

This teaching does not fit with the teachings of false Christianity, which discounts the idea that we must be born-again by the Spirit of God!

A misunderstanding of the depraved nature of natural man seems to be at the heart of this philosophy; That man is basically “good”. It also puts man in the driver’s seat and makes God dependent upon humanity!

On a related note; When reading Revelation 17 and 18 there are 2 different prophecies about cities called “Babylon” and built on seven mountains.

I realized years ago that the original Babylon was built on a flat plain, and there isn’t a mountain in sight! It thus follows that if this city is actually the same Babylon, its mountains cannot be literal mountains, and if it is about a city of seven literal mountains it cannot be literally Babylon, Iraq.

In time I came to realize that these prophecies are 2 distinct cities; one is literally Babylon, with seven allegorical mountains, and the other is allegorically Babylon with 7 literal mountains! Two different cities in different geographical locations, and neither of them is Rome, Italy!

So what about the NAR’s “Seven Mountain Mandate”? This is the beginning of Babylon’s seven mountains!

And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. Revelation 17:9

After Rome is destroyed during the Gog-Magog war, the false Christians of the world (perhaps with Hinduism, Buddhism and the remains of Islam, but this is not necessary, since these religions might well be converting to this false form of Christianity by this time!) will unite and build their headquarters in the place where all false religions began; Babylon, Iraq! They will use this teaching of the “Seven Mountain Mandate” as their basis for unity!

So what about the protestants who support Focus on the Family? They too will join in this doomed endeavor, and it is movies like “the Truth Project” that are preparing the way for this Satanic unity! Despite protests to the contrary, the vast majority of professing Christians, especially the Dominionists and Reconstructionists, will join in this movement!

So why is the endeavor doomed? Because not only will the Antichrist hate this harlot, so does God, and it is God who puts it into the hearts of the Beast and the world leaders to destroy this city, after using it to create their world government!

12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

The use of the present tense in verse 18 has led many to assume that this must refer to a city that has ruled the world for the last 2,000 years, but the truth is there is no such city. Several cities have aspired to that goal, but none of them have attained it, not even Rome!

What they are forgetting is that this passage is prophetic, and refers to the time of the end, so the phrase “that great city, that reigneth over the kings of the earth” is a reference to this period of time, and does not refer to any particular city that has wielded power for a time during the last two millennia. In fact it refers to a city that lost power at a time before Christ came, and will not pick it up again until the time of the end; Babylon!

So what of the video “Is Genesis History?”? What if it actually contains much useful and true information about science? As I see it, this is simply a fulfillment of Jesus’ prophecy of Matthew 24:5

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

It is not that Jesus isn’t the Christ, He certainly IS, but rather many false teachers come proclaiming Jesus is the Christ as a means of getting their “foot in the door” and then they teach their errors, and it is accepted because “they are Christians, after all”!

You would be better off getting your scientific information from www.icr.org, https://answersingenesis.org, or http://creation.com . To my knowledge, none of these ministries yet teach the 7 mountain mandate!
