Most people who come to this blog would consider themselves Christians, and I think that a great many of them are. I have friends who keep coming back, and I am thankful for you.

So, I have a question, or a series of questions, for Christians in general, not only for readers of this blog, but for all those who profess to be Christians;

How much do you love Jesus?

Is Jesus something you have added to your life, or is He the center of it?

If the bible says something about Jesus that does not fit-in with your understanding of society, or of morality, do you ignore it, excuse it, or do you accept it, and adjust your views accordingly?  The Baptist churches I came from frequently did the first two, and rarely the third, although I know some members who privately would say something contrary to their official Church position on a number of issues.

One example would be the wedding in Cana, where Jesus turned water into wine. Some “Christians” can’t accept the biblical teaching at this point, so they say “well, it wasn’t really wine, just grape juice”. And so, in order to understand Scripture, according to these people, we have to go to them to interpret Scripture for us!

The truth is that the word used in this case “oinos” is wine; trux was the Greek word for grape juice, or must. “Trux” was not used in the biblical text, because they were not drinking grape juice! It is dishonest to read one’s prejudices into the biblical text, as the anti-wine people do here. Not only is it dishonest, but it is downright faithless!

The bible is plain that God condemns excessive indulgence, but it never condemns the moderate use of wine.

But what of other subjects?

There is a subject that has a relation to the first identification of the Antichrist himself, which most professing Christians would reject, and as a result they will view the Beast as “a man of God”. Here is the passage to which I am referring;

36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.  37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. Daniel 11:36-37

The bible speaks of many women who had difficulty having children, and how they had such a very strong desire for children that some of them did extraordinary things to that end. Lot’s daughters seduced their own father. Hannah made extraordinary prayers at the tabernacle, because of her desire for a child, so much so that the High Priest thought she was drunk!

Sarah gave her handmaid to Abraham, as a second wife, in the hope that she could call the resulting child her own. The same thing happened with Rachel and Leah.

Elisha stayed with a Shunnamite couple, who couldn’t seem to conceive. He prayed and she had a child, but before she conceived she told him “don’t deceive me”. You see she had a strong desire to have a child, and didn’t want to have a false hope. Later when the child died, she brought him to and said  “Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me?” You see, she was not denying this desire of women, she was actually affirming it, and when the child died she was essentially saying “you have given me false hope! If the child dies then you have deceived me!”

We could look at other women in the bible as well, such as Tamar, Judah’s daughter-in-law, or Elizabeth, John the Baptist’s mother, and we would see this same thing; the biblical desire of women is to have children, preferably by her husband.

Now think about the Antichrist; He is going to take over the government of the world at a time very similar to the time Jesus Christ will take over; after a great war! In fact the Beast will take over shortly after the Gog and Magog war, and that will be a time when remnants of the armies from that war are returning home. The situation will be like it was in many wars, where large numbers of men die on the battle field, only this time the bible actually tells us the ratio of survivors to the casualties;

 And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel: Ezekiel 39:2

Since most armies are almost entirely male, and considering that there is a large Muslim component in the attacking armies, the numbers of women in these forces will be very small if they exist at all. These surviving men, when they return home will find that there are five women for every man, and this will be the exact time when polygamy will be prohibited in the nations which have practised this form of marriage as a means of dealing with the fallout of war, from ancient times!

This is what the phrase “ Neither shall he regard … the desire of women” means in Daniel 11:37! The surviving women will expect that they will simply have to “gang-up” on their men, to a ratio of 6-1, so that they can have a family, but the ruler of those nations will prohibit this practise!

The worst part of all this is that professing Christians will think that this is a sign that this is a “man of God”!

You see, as I studied this issue it became apparent that the prohibition of polygamy does not come from Christianity, but from pagan Greece and Rome! What happened is that this practise was prohibited in both of these empires, except in Israel, and many years after the founding of the Christian Church this pagan teaching adopted by professing Christians and was read-into the biblical text!

The truth is that it is not actually there!

Matthew 19:9 
And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

Mark 10:11 
And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.

I am in full agreement with what Jesus says here, and please note that He did not say it is wrong for a man to marry two women at the same time, only that it is wrong to divorce one in order to marry another.

Polygamists don’t divorce one woman to marry another. And, if you examine the life of David you will see that he didn’t divorce one woman before remarrying. It is true that Saul took Michal away from him and gave her to another man, but David understood that marriage is for life, and went and took her back when he had the chance, proving that here marriage to the second man, even after having children with him, was not legitimate!

Some people might think that what I am saying is blasphemy, but it is actually in the bible. In fact there is a prophecy about the Millennial reign of Christ which specifically says that He will allow this practise when He is on the throne in Jerusalem!

  1 And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.  2 In that day shall the branch of the Lord be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.  3 And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem:  4 When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning. Isaiah 4:1-4

What is it when a woman takes a man’s name? It is marriage, of course! It is the desire of these seven women to be married to one man! If you go back 3 or 4 verses in the preceding chapter, you will see the reason; the majority of the men have been killed during Armageddon!

Notice the next verses are connected to verse one by the phrase “in that day”. This phrase can mean “at the same time” or it can also mean “one thing closely following another, in a short period of time”.

In verse 1 it means the latter, but in verses 2 through 6 it is actually the former.

The phrase in verse 1 connects these verses with chapter 3 which is an indictment of ancient, and modern, Israel. They are condemned for their immoral ways and the women of Israel are singled out for flirting with men and attracting them with their clothing, hairstyles and jewellery. These are the same women who are called holy in verses 2 through 4 of chapter 4.

They weren’t holy when they were flaunting their sin, but they became holy when the Tribulation came upon them! When they called out to the Lord Jesus Christ He answered them and saved them, both bodily and spiritually! Now they are survivors of Armageddon and there are not enough men for them to each have a husband to herself.

Of course this situation will be the same throughout the world, because 100% of the armies that attack Israel will die in the battle field, leaving many more women than men in every country.

The Lord presents us with a cause and effect relationship in these passages;

The sin of Israel in Isaiah 3:1-23 is the cause of God’s judgment in verses 24-26, and the judgment in these verses causes Israel to suffer a severe shortage of men as the survivors enter into the Millennial Kingdom, in 4:1. Chapter 4 is dedicated to describing the conditions of the Millennial reign, including verse 1.

Why would God do this? He already gave us the answer in chapter 45:18;

17 But Israel shall be saved in the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.  18 For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord; and there is none else. Isaiah 45:17-18

Just by existing People glorify God. In fact all people glorify God, even the lost! For all eternity those in Heaven will glorify God, and so will those in the lake of fire! It is God’s plan to fill the earth with a staggering number of people during the Millennial Reign, and it will start-off with large polygamous families! This is why the mountains will fall at the return of Christ; they will fall and the waters will flow underground as they were in the early earth, to make room for the massive increase in humanity!

The current population of 7 billion or so, will seem like a country village compared to the population during the Millennial reign!

As God re-creates Garden of Eden conditions on earth, and as 100% of the survivors of the Tribulation will be believers in Jesus Christ, even as Jesus rules the earth physically from Jerusalem, with all His saints, even so their descendants, living in near perfect conditions will ultimately rebel in large numbers!

So, what if you thought I was correct about Jesus? Would you abandon him, thinking your western culture is superior? Or, would you retreat back to your “safe” man-made-Jesus? The Jesus who doesn’t offend anyone is also a Jesus who cannot save anyone! I hope you have or will receive the biblical Jesus, because He is the only Saviour!

Some have abandoned me, accusing me of making-up my own Jesus, and refusing to read The Spirit of Prophecy any more than the first couple of paragraphs in chapter 8. That is so sad, because this is the first sign of the Antichrist, and so many will miss it because of their pre-conceived beliefs! In fact it is professing Christians who will put him on the throne, thinking that his opposition to polygamy is a sign that he is a Christian!

2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 tells us that the Antichrist will be revealed BEFORE the rapture occurs, but verses 6-8 tell us that he will be revealed AFTER this same event. Some groups grasp one or the other of these truths to form the basis of their doctrine, but these statements must be harmonized if we are going to come to an understanding of this passage.

The simplest and best answer to this dilemma is that the Antichrist will be revealed to one group BEFORE the Rapture, and to another group AFTER. The bible even tells us which group is first;

Amos 3:7 
Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

So who is in the place of the prophets today? The very same people who will be raptured BEFORE the Tribulation, the true believers of the Christian Church!

The first revelation is during a time when he is not in a position to do great harm to the believers, but is still ascending to world domination.

Some of them might actually read this blog, and disagree with me until they see it. In fact when they do change their opinion, when they see the Beast disregarding the desire of women, after the Gog/Magog war, the world will say something like “You told us that polygamy was wrong for centuries, and now you are changing your mind when you see this good-man prohibiting it? Why should we believe you now?”

And the world, led by the false Church, will approve and lift-up the Antichrist to the position of world ruler!
