Over the last couple of months we have seen so many devastating things that we barely get time to take a breath until the next event occurs.

First there was the Orlando shooting in a gay nightclub, by a gay Muslim patron. Then there was the Bastille day, truck massacre in Nice, France, and now there has been a shooting in Munich, Germany. These, of course, are just the tip of the proverbial ice-berg, with there being terrorist attacks by Muslim extremists every day, somewhere in the world.

In the mean time, there was the “coup” attempt in Turkey, which actually worked to give Erdogan the opportunity to become Europe’s latest dictator.

Many are pointing out how this “coup” did not appear genuine, from the very first day. The “rebels” actually had Erdogan’s airplane in their sights, and nobody pulled the trigger? Over the last century many leaders have disappeared in airplane “accidents”, and if you really wanted to get rid of someone, and had him in your sights, wouldn’t you pull the trigger?

I do not want to see anyone die, but this failure to follow-through on the part of the Turkish “rebels” really indicates that they were acting out a role, rather than being genuine rebels or patriots! It appears that they were actually working for Erdogan.

The fact that the government already had a list of over 50,000 people they wanted to arrest is evidence that the coup was just an act, to give them an excuse to round-up their enemies! I expect that world leaders are watching to see how well this works for him…

The Brexit vote, in which the people of the UK expressed their desire to leave the European Union, is another recent event which boggles the mind. So then David Cameron stepped down and a person, Theresa May, who had campaigned to stay was chosen as their leader for the Brexit negotiations? Rather than leaving now it is being put-off until 2019? One wonders how sincere the promises are.

Still, she has made promises to follow through on the Brexit vote, so she might actually keep them. Ultimately, I expect that Britain will remain in, or rejoin with, some sort of political and economic union with several other European nations, even if they actually do leave the EU.

I have found that by the time of the Gog-Magog war, Britain will be allied with the other Germanic nations including Germany, Austria, Holland, Scandinavia, and France. When that war occurs these nations will join with Eastern Europe, Russia, Turkey, Iran and several African nations in their attack on Israel, and Israel’s allies.

Yes, Israel will have allies during the Gog/Magog war, though Ezekiel 38-39 does not specifically speak about them. This prophecy is written by an Israelite, and focuses his attention on Israel. Still several Arab nations are mentioned as objecting to the war; Sheba, Dedan, and Tarshish. These will be the new capitals of the Arab nations, which will have been shaken-up when they attacked Israel themselves during the Psalm 83 war, several years earlier.  They will also have benefited greatly from their peace with Israel after that war.

These won’t be Israel’s only friends at that time, and they will be relying on several nations from Southern Europe to guarantie their security. For this very reason many in the attacking armies will believe they are attacking the Antichrist when they attack Rome, simultaneously with Israel.

I know this scenario is not taught by most prophecy teachers today, so how did I come up with this idea? Once I realized that Satan always has his counterfeits, then I realized that this idea explains how Satan will be able to get the world to follow and support the Antichrist; They will have seen someone they believe to be the Antichrist, destroyed during the Gog/Magog war!

So what about all the chaos going on around us today? This is a lead-up to the End Times events.

The bible speaks of the events of these days as being like “a woman in childbirth”. Having been the father of 3 boys, I have seen how labour pains start gradually and of low intensity, but then growing in intensity and closer together until the child is born. By the time he is born, she is screaming in pain!

This is what we have seen over the last century or so. There have been major events, but then things subside, sometimes for many years, until there is another major event. Now these major events are coming at such a rate that there is hardly time to take a breath between them.

So where are we on the prophetic map, today?

I believe the evidence is that we are in the lead-up to the Psalm 83 war. This war is not imminent today, but look for more military and economic cooperation between Israel and the Arabs. They will use this cooperation to put Israel at her ease, and then they will suddenly attack.

In that war Israel will be forced to use their nuclear weapons for self-defense, and we will see several Arab capitals flattened, including Damascus (Isaiah 17:1), Cairo (Isaiah 19:18), and Lebanon (Zechariah 11:1-2). While other Arab capitals are not specified, I expect the same thing will happen to Riyadh, and Baghdad, and perhaps others.

In the aftermath of this war, Israel will be persuaded to give up her nuclear weapons, through a deal brokered by a Southern European leader. The only way they would do that is if they have an ironclad agreement that this group of nations will provide security for them if they are attacked. It is this deal that will identify this leader as the Antichrist, and it will also ensure his own demise when the nations of the Ezekiel 38-39 war attack; The attacking armies MUST neutralize Israel’s defenders!

This deal will work for a time, and it will bring prosperity to Israel and the Arabs. It is also this very deal that the real Antichrist will use as a template for his own deal with Israel, at the end of the Gog/Magog war. This is why the bible indicates that the Antichrist does not originate the deal, but merely “confirms” someone else’s agreement!

And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Daniel 9:27

The events, as they are unfolding today, are pushing the world to make compromises of their freedom, for security, and it will not work.  Instead things are moving inexorably towards the fulfilment of biblical prophecy!
