If you haven’t been entirely distracted with the Covid-19 news you may have noticed that President Trump has been busy brokering peace treaties between Israel and some of her Arab neighbours.

In fact the latest news is that there are as many as 9 Arab nations who are at the point of signing treaties to normalize relations with Israel!

A lot of people are shouting “Peace in our Time”, but I have a different take than this.  I don’t trust man, especially unbelievers!

Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord. Jeremiah 17:5

When I first heard Bill Salus on the radio, speaking about Psalm 83, I realized that this war explains why the Arabs are not a part of the Ezekiel 38-39 war. In fact I realized it before he was finished speaking! As I have done further research my conclusions have been confirmed over and over again.

This war comes first, and the Arabs will sue for peace, so that by the time the Ezekiel 38-39 war occurs, they will not join it, but will protest the invasion!  This is spoken of in Ezekiel 38:13;

Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?

Sheba, Dedan, and Tarshish are all Arab entities.  While there were a number of Tarshises in the bible, the statement “Art thou come to take a spoil?” indicates that the invading armies must come through these people’s territories to get to Israel; in other words, they are local neighbours of Israel, and not far away in parts of Africa, Spain, or England!

Tarsus is a city in Turkey, and as such is a part of the invading armies!  They will not have one of their own cities protesting the war!  No way!

The city of Tartus, in Syria, is likely the one being referenced here, since Damascus will be destroyed earlier during the Psalm 83 war, so its replacement will be the Syrian port of Tartus!

It is likely that the Saudi city of Riyadh will be replaced by the Saudi city of Dedan, after being destroyed during the same war as Damascus!

I am not sure where Sheba is, but it is still a part of this trio of Arab cities which protest the Russo-Iranian armies attack!  (Western Europe, including Britain, will also be a part of this attack)

So, how do today’s “peace treaties” fit into this scenario? They are the “crafty counsel” part of verse 3! The Arabs will put on an act and the US will leave the region, thinking they have achieved peace! Then when the USA is distracted, perhaps by a civil war, the Arabs will attack, and Israel will be caught off guard. It will be so bad, and Israel in so much danger of being pushed into the sea, that they will be forced to use their nuclear weapons!

This result is not mentioned in the Psalm, but can be found in places like Isaiah 17:1, 19:18, and in Zechariah 11:1-2.

Read the whole psalm, but here are verses 1-8. Notice the “crafty counsel” in verse 3; up until now, the Arabs have never been “crafty” in their wars against Israel. They have just massed their armies on the border, and attacked! Now they are following Mohammad’s example in the Treaty of Hudaybiyya; he gave his word to the people of Mecca, and then broke it a couple of years later. He kept it long enough for them to let their guard down!

 1 Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.
2 For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
3 They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
5 For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:
6 The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;
7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
8 Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah. Psalm 83:1-8

As I said, read the rest of the psalm. As you study the names of the attackers, you will find that they are the patriarchs of the modern Arab nations which surround Israel.  For instance Assur was the father of Assyria, which is the modern nation of Iraq.  Edom, Moab and “the children of Lot” (Ammon) are still with us today, living on the same land as their ancestors, just across the river from Israel.  Ishmael is Saudi Arabia.  Gebal and Tyre are known as Lebanon today.  The Hagarenes live in the south of Syria, so Syria will be involved.  The Amalekites live in the Sinai peninsula, which is an Egyptian territory today, so they will drag Egypt into this war.

The Philistines?  When Mohammad took over the territory of the Philistines, his armies killed every man who wouldn’t convert to Islam, and then forced their wives to marry Muslim warriors, so the people of the Gaza strip are descendants of Philistines and Arabs.  They too will join this war!  God is never wrong, and when he uses the term “Philistines” you can bet that there are modern descendants of the ancient arch-enemies of Israel, still alive today!

Mark my words, these peace treaties will be broken by the Arabs, and the resulting war will trigger the End Times!

After Israel is forced to use Weapons of Mass Destruction a European leader will broker a peace treaty between Israel and the Arabs that will actually work! This man is NOT THE ANTICHRIST, but his treaty will be the model for the Antichrist’s treaty after the Gog and Magog war of Ezekiel 38-39! This is why it says “he confirms a covenant” (or strengthens a covenant); it’s not his, but came from a predecessor, and he will use it for his own purposes!

The Rapture? This will occur after the Gog and Magog war! This is one of the last great signs before the Rapture!  Checkout some of my articles about it, or read my book!
