There has been a lot of hype recently regarding the year 2012 and the end of the Mayan calendar. Lots of people have been busy scurrying around trying to inflame fears of the end of the world. I saw the movie 2012 last year and I must say I was disappointed.
The truth is the earth has at least 1000 years to go. Guaranteed!
That is not to say that there won’t be significant events in the year 2012.
The nation of Iran is pushing hard at Israel, and the US, and it won’t be long before Israel, or the US pushes back. I expect this coming year will likely see the conflict over Iran’s nuclear ambitions come to a head. I expect it earlier rather than later.
I expect we will see the rebellion in Syria escalate to a full civil war, or Assad will be deposed first.
Now that the US is no longer propping up Maliki in Iraq, there is a real possibility of civil war in that country as well. I expect the Sunni insurgents will take over the government sooner or later, and by later I don’t mean 2013.
Should the Sunnis take over in Iraq and Syria, we will see some changes to the leadership in Lebanon. Hezbollah has been receiving its weapons from Iran, via Syria, and though a Sunni takeover in Syria might strain the relations, their common hatred of Israel may allow some cooperation to continue for a while.
As I have said before, I believe we are seeing the Psalm 83 confederacy take shape before our eyes. This group of belligerent nations will include the nations surrounding Israel, namely Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the Palestinians, and Egypt, with possible participation from some of the other local Arab nations. It will not include Turkey, Iran, Somalia, or Libya, and while Russia may supply some of the arms, they will not actively participate either.
All of this last group of nations is very hostile to Israel today. Look for something to occur that will drive a wedge between them and the first group. I’m not exactly sure what that wedge could be. If Israel and/or the US attacks Iran’s nuclear installations, with the cooperation of the Saudis or some of the other Arabs, this could well do it. The Sunni/Shiite conflict might also be responsible.
Today, things are not quite ready for the Psalm 83 conflict to occur, but keep your eyes on the Middle East.
Keep watching what is going on in the west as well. There is a strong push for the New World Order coming from politicians in the west, and there are activities planned to push for a one world government. As Gary Kah reports there is a push for all the world’s religions to get together, and there are various activities planned for the fall of 2012, and escalating toward December 21. One of these events is planned for Rome, in the fall of 2012, and this is significant.
Don’t be alarmed. Jesus is still in control. As I have outlined in The Spirit of Prophecy, this is all part of the plan. It is very likely that these people will succeed in creating some form of a world government, though I can’t say it will happen in 2012. Likely not.
I expect though, that they will produce a man who will have some ideas that will work for a while, but ultimately he will be destroyed in a major war. This guy will look so much like the popular views of the Antichrist, that when he is destroyed the world will breathe a sigh of relief, and proclaim “peace and safety”. That is the time that the real Antichrist will show up, from somewhere unexpected, and that is when the real trouble will start.
Will all of this happen in 2012? No. I don’t believe so. I expect that there will be several years of relative peace between the Psalm 83 war and the second war, prophesied in Ezekiel 38-39. The Psalm 83 war may not even occur this year, or even the next. The New World Order people keep pushing for their world government, and it will come, but not before God’s timing.
The American elections of 2012: It doesn’t really matter who wins. All of the republican candidates are not really a threat to Obama, and even if one of them were to unseat him, I would not expect a change in American government policy. They will keep on going down the road to tyranny. The speed may be faster or slower, but they are all going in the same direction.
The only candidate who might actually make a difference, Michelle Bachman, is not expected to win. The problem with her is that she actually has principles. Ronald Reagan was the last principled president the US has had. American voters don’t want people with principles, they want people who say nice things and who can be bought. I don’t expect them to change now!
The Christian bible was written when evil men were on the throne in Rome. Men like Nero didn’t stop the spread of the gospel. Their persecutions actually strengthened the Christian church. Today we hear people chanting “bring back the lions”. Well, if you do, you will only strengthen the Christian church. You can’t stop the gospel of Jesus Christ. He is alive and is in ultimate control of this planet.
As 2012 begins, and people are considering resolutions, why not resolve to spend this year serving Jesus Christ? The rewards are out of this world!
